Cancellation and amendment policy for candidates
A. Cancellation
You may cancel your atTanal Arabic test registration at any time before taking the test by contacting us or your accredited centre directly. Refund conditions depend on when you cancel and whether exceptional circumstances apply.
۱– Time remaining before the test
1.1 More than five days before the test
Cancel more than five days before the test to receive a refund of 75% of the total test fee.
1.2 Within five days but more than two days before the test
Cancel within five days but more than two days before the test to receive a refund of 50% of the total fee.
1.3 Within two days of the test
Cancel within two days of the test to receive a refund of 25% of the total fee.
1.4 On or after the test day
No fee is refunded if you cancel on the test date or afterwards.
۲– Candidate exceptions
You may submit an exceptional-circumstances case to your test centre before the test or up to five days afterwards. The centre will assess your circumstances and reply within seven working days of receiving your written case.
The test centre must receive your case and all supporting evidence no later than five days after the scheduled test date.
If the centre approves your case, you will receive a full refund less an administrative charge of no more than 25% of the refundable amount.
If the centre does not approve your case, the conditions in section (1) apply.
Exceptional circumstances mean
- Serious medical conditions preventing attendance or normal performance on test day require supporting evidence and a medical certificate from a qualified doctor.
- Evidence of bereavement, psychological trauma or other significant hardship.
- Military service
۳– Test centre exceptions
We may have to cancel a test because of circumstances beyond the centre's control, including severe weather, natural disasters, civil unrest or labour strikes.
In these circumstances, your centre will give as much advance notice as possible and offer a choice between::
- a full refund, or
- rescheduling to another suitable date.
If the centre cancels a test for reasons within its control, you may also be eligible to claim incurred expenses in addition to a full refund or an alternative date. The centre will assess eligibility and whether the claim is reasonable, subject to the following conditions:
- The centre determines whether the reason for cancellation was within its control.
- Compensation is limited to travel and accommodation expenses that:
– Were incurred directly in preparation for attending the test;
– Are supported by payment receipts;
– Are supported by evidence that the cancelled travel or accommodation charges cannot be refunded by the provider;
– Are comparable to the lowest reasonable market rates, as assessed by the centre.
- If you travel farther than the test centre nearest to your usual residence, the centre will not consider your claim reasonable.
B. Changing the test date
4. ۱. More than five days before the test:
You may change your test date before the five-day period preceding the test.
Where possible, choose a new date within three months of the original test date. A requested date more than three months later is treated as a cancellation.
You may change the same booking only once.
Your centre may charge an administrative fee of up to 25% of the total test fee.
4. ۲. Within five days of the test:
Change requests made within five days of the test are treated as cancellations. See section A of this policy.
Notes:
- Your test centre is responsible for issuing refunds and arranging date changes.
- Under section A–2, the centre is responsible for decisions on candidates' exceptional-circumstances claims.
- Under section A–3, the centre decides compensation eligibility and any amount awarded.
- If consumer-protection law in the country where you registered provides more favourable cancellation or date-change rights, that local law applies.
