atTanal Arabic
International Certificate of Proficiency in Arabic
Who we are
The international Arabic testing system, atTanal Arabic, was designed to help you work, study, travel and pursue other activities in countries where Arabic is the native language.
The test assesses listening, conversation, reading, writing, speaking and Arabic grammar. atTanal is classified against several scales, including native-speaker Arabic teaching standards and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
atTanal Arabic is the intellectual property of its Chairman, Professor Dr. Abdur Raouf Zuhdi Mustafa, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. An Arabic educational expert team was formed to develop tests consistent with international standards.
If you intend to work, live or study in an Arabic-speaking country, atTanal Arabic helps you demonstrate a high level of ability to communicate in Arabic.
Arabic is the world’s fourth most spoken and widespread language. People in around 66 countries, including all Arab countries, speak it; its speakers are estimated at 6.6% of the world population. It became an official United Nations language in 1974.
Communicating in the native language of the country where you wish to work, study or live offers many advantages. It is important for employment, reading, everyday interaction and integration into society.
atTanal Arabic is a popular test for those studying Arabic in non-Arabic-speaking countries, those who need to learn to read and write Arabic personally, and for assessing native-speaking teachers. It is recognised by more than 50 employers, universities, schools, ministries and organisations and has reached over 20 Arab and other countries worldwide.
Message from the Chairman and intellectual property owner
atTanal was created to raise and improve general knowledge of Arabic locally and internationally. It is a global language project unrelated to ethnic, religious or political issues: language for language itself. I am honoured to help everyone interested in learning Arabic. Arabic is rich and words may have different interpretations, so a high level of understanding is especially important. We will make knowledge of Arabic as open as possible so everyone can benefit.
Professor Dr. Abdur Raouf Zuhdi Mustafa
Chairman and founder of atTanal Arabic
